When Cows Obstruct Your Way…

“The man who can drive himself further once the effort gets painful is the man who will win.” -Sir Roger Bannister, the first man to break the four minute mile

Yesterday was indeed a great training day for me, running with a time of 2 hours and 7 minutes, mostly uphill from our place to  Victoria Homes  Muntinlupa City, and back and forth. Conrad, a 63 year old veteran runner was with me and we have some fun along the way…

Reaching this place, we already covered an 11k based on my HRM.

No, these kids were not only playing…we caught them having their P.E class beside that church, and guess what they’re doing?

You’re right! A fun run, maybe a 100m dash, and this was their own version of a finish line. Where  a competition was done with 4 runners, a time trial maybe.

After that photo-ops, we have to move on. This one was taken while I’m running, slightly behind from Conrad.

After a great run, we stopped here and I imitated Hulk Hogan meaning… not even cows can hinder me conquering places.

I’m hoping that nothing can hinder us achieve our goals, especially in running.

Question for you Ronnie. In your runs do you ever have problems with dogs barking and chasing?

Rick, as a kid I was bitten by dogs 5 times in different situations and when I started my running career, that was one of my greatest fears. Seeing a dog during any runs frightens me and Everytime I encountered one, I just walked…in practice or on races. I learned to respect that beast because it was unkind to me during my childhood days. i’m glad to be spared until now….

Thanks Ronnie, the reason I asked is because back in Bacolod there are a lot of stray dogs. Some more aggressive than others. I guess it helps when you are with a friend.
