About me…

“RUN from anything that gives you the evil thoughts . . . but stay close to anything that makes you want to do right.”

Why do you run? To be physically fit, to win friends, to break personal records, to conquer places and locations, to display new gadgets, to test your endurance, to know your limit, to have a longer and satisfying life,to outrun the others,…?I run not only to finish the race, but to complete the task of sharing the Good News…that ALL of US ARE SINNERS! BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS…He came and died on our behalf. If you’ll accept HIM as your PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOUR, He will save you.May this blog glorifies the Lord and thru it, many runners of all ages, come to know the importance of accepting Jesus Christ as their own personal Lord and Savior and the many benefits of being physically fit and active.

VISION-to be able to share to majority of runners the GOOD NEWS, proclaiming it in season and out of season, winning more souls for HIM and be an encouragement to other believers.MISSION-obeying Jesus Christs’ admonition that…” you will receive POWER when the HOLY SPIRIT comes on you; and you will be my WITNESSES in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8CREED-“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the RACE and COMPLETE THE TASK the LORD JESUS has given me–the TASK OF TESTIFYING to the gospel of God’s grace.”- Acts 20:24

It’s a very hard task considering that running is not an easy sports..But your motive is good. Hoping to see many believers during the race. That would be great! This site not only provides informations on how to become physically fit (running) as you’ve said but to enlighten us along the way…

I’m one with you! Hope to see you during the race…

God bless you darlagem…let’s pray that more and more Christian runners like us should come out into open and lift HIS Name…

Hi, came across your blog as I was doing some “blog hopping”. I have to say, the first thing that caught my eye was your username! It’s always nice to see a fellow Christian who shares the same passions as me.

Keep with the faith bro, and God bless!

Hi pinoy hatdog…thanks a lot for dropping by. It’s nice knowing we are plenty in spreading the WORD, and surely we can make a difference if we will SHARE it in season and out of season. We may not be an elite athlete in our chosen field, but we can be a small LIGHT for all people to see, that they may glorify GOD thru US. Life is like a race and someday we will reach the finish line. May we hear HIM say…thou good and faithful servant, you may now enter My kingdom.
Bless God bro as He blesses you more!

Praise the Lord of all ages for we have the ability to be able to run and the ability to share the Good News and let others know about Him so they can share with us the many blessings of our Lord JEsus but in the most important one and that is the knowing of eternal life!!! Great ministry. Now that we have the ability we should always show our availibility. All honor to Him!

4 12 2008
runnerforchrist

To Foreignrunner…Many of God’s giants were unimpressive at first. Gideon was a thresher. David was a shepherd boy. Amos was a herdsman. William Carey was a shoemaker. Adam Clarke was a farmer. God chooses ordinary people to do extraordinary work. Whatever and wherever we are, we can be GREAT in His sight if we’ll use whatever abilities we have for His glory.
Thanks a lot bro. for being such a man! He will use you too Mightily. To God be the glory! 1samuel 16:7

Hoping to meet you in future races Ronnie! Continue to give glory and honor to our Lord Jesus Christ bro! God bless!

runnerforchrist

To Bro J…Thanks a lot for a very inspiring missive of yours. You said it right bro! We have no choice but to give Him all the Glory for after all, everything we possess and all that we are, we owe it to Him…and He deserve ALL the Glory and honor. It’s not our performances, personal best and records but His strength in us that made the difference. Without HIM, We are nothing and we can do nothing.

See you sometime bro, if not possible here, it can be THERE!…in His eternal kingdom.Just keep the flame burning in your heart!

Ronnie,

God bless you for spreading the word and standing up for the name of Jesus in front of the whole world. I wanted to let you know of something I am doing. On Jan 30, I am attempting an iron distance triathlon in Birmingham, Alabama to raise awareness for the plight of Christianity in France and raise funds for missionaries to France Daniel and Magen Davis. This is a one man race – me. I hope it is a day that will glorify God. If you would like to learn more, go to my blog. The address is above. Feel free to link to it. If you have questions, send me an email.

For His Fame,

Chris

Hi Chris…You Know, joining a triathlon is also one of my goals this year. I bought a racer bike some 2 months ago and occasionally do a bike “cross training.” My waterloo is my swimming skill and I need to improve on that. I’m glad to hear someone like you who has the same vision and burden to spread the WORD. I’ll keep in touch from time to time. I’m also preparing for my 102 kilometers ultramarathon this April 2009.

God bless you. keep blogging and running.

For His Glory,

Ronnie

It was nice to know that there are Christians that are dedicated to run for His glory. I am newbie in running, it was my passion to run but I am not that fast. The same way, my goal was to finish the race only. I just started last year and attended 3 race. And the first race that I attended is a race in benefit of our Christian friends to go to school. Maybe we could gather runners and organize the same thing! Godbless!

I have a lot of stories to tell!! Nice that I have opened your blog!

Hi from Canada!

My wife lived in the Philipians for awhile (1982), but she is from Canada. We are both Christians, and started a running store “The Running Goat” (reference to Christ as the scape goat) in the town where we live (Perth, Ontario, Canada). I am certainly encouraged further by your website (our store site is currently down for re-building). We organize a race at our church in June, where we try to find ways to reach out to the running community to tell of Jesus.

Perhaps I will tell more another time…for now best regards in Christ.

Hello,

Although you most likely never heard of my effort, far back in the past, to promote Pedal-Power by actually “riding” from the Bahamas to Florida in 1981, and also crossing the Western English Channel in 1985, I nonetheless invite you to take a look at my recently opened website.

In spite of the fact that this episode of my life belongs to yesteryear, I believe that the effort & achievement are still relevant today. For that reason, I feel confident that the visit I suggest might be of interest to you.

Hi Ronnie,

Thanks be to GOD that I came across your blog, it really inspired me.To tell you frankly I’m not fan of blogging but my inner being urge me to write this message. I started serious running January of this year, joining marathon almost every week. While reading, I ask my self, why I am running? Is it for physical fitness only? To improve my PR for every run and outrun somebody? Or I am running for a cause?

It’s a good feeling that in joining a marathon event, you can achieved your goal of improving your PR and at the same time part of your registration fee will go to some beneficiary.

Now, I know that this inspiration to run certainly came from GOD, and with the people like you who is not afraid in proclaiming HIS goodness will help me always to RUN FOR CHRIST.

Let’s all continue to run for HIS HONOR AND GLORY!

Hope to meet you one of these day and all RUNNERS FOR CHRIST.

GOD BLESS.

Hi sir!

Praise be to God! I found your blog just now. I was actually browsing for news re the tragedy in the recent Ironman competition in CamSur. Then I noticed this little ‘runnerforchrist’ link in google. I just felt truly blessed to have come across this wonderful blog. As I was reading the Intro & About Me page, I felt as if my mind was actually speaking. What you have said were the same words my spirit want to speak out… I mean your vision, mission…your goal, and what drives you in this tough sport, are the same reasons why I want to pursue and train for these kind of activities. Aside from keeping my body fit and strong thru running and jogging, I consider it my act of worship as well since our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. But more than just my personal reasons, I believe God has given me a greater purpose why He led me to this kind of sports. And as I mentioned, that purpose is to have His name glorified and honored just like what you are doing now– to spread the Good News, to draw people near to Him, and be an encouragement among sport-minded people.

I’m just starting to be ‘passionate’ on the sport. I started jogging regularly (weekend) since June of this year only. So far, I have joined only one competition, the MILO 5km last July 5 in Luneta. I dont have any previous professional training/s nor I’m a member of any running club. In spite of having lived a sedentary lifestyle (and being overweight) for so many years, I made it in my first 5km competition. It was only thru God’s grace. It was a breakthrough/miracle for me, considering that I could barely run or even jog for just 5 minues straight, a few months before the race. Right now, the strenght God has given me is still only for 5k fun runs. I’m not yet sure if I could join in GMA 7’s fun run event on August 30th. I’m still praying that He would would take me to my desired next level which is the 10k.

With regards to your mission of sharing the good news through your chosen sports, hopefully a big running event (full marathon & fun run) will be organized in Metro Manila all for Christ’s glory. I’m sure there are lots of followers of Christ out there who are into the this sport also, and would respond to the call. Its high time believers would all group together and start proclaiming to the world the Good News of Christ in every way we can. And God will surely bless this endeavor. Someone suggested a ‘Runner for Christ Club’ and I believe its a great idea. I just dont know sir if you’ve already set this up.

I pray that our dear Lord will continue to lead you and show you more great things that would bring glory to His name.

God bless!!!

“I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”-Philippians 4:13

Runner For Christ,

It is very good to have landed upon your site, as it is very uplifting and motivating. It is always good to know that there is another brother in Christ out there running and spreading the Word of God. Through him, all things are do-able. I just started running about a year ago, and have dropped 40 pounds (18.14 kg, sorry, metric system). I feel great! The Lord has given me a body to use, so I will use it. May we glorify him always through all that we do. Maybe we will be running together some day on this earth the Lord has blessed us with. My wife, being pinoy, can not stand the winters here, and we have plans to move there in the near future. Keep up the posts. I will be adding your site on my blog roll at essenceofrunning.blogspot.com. God Bless!

Dear Runner For Christ,

Hope this finds you well.

Our agency – Tangerine – is the digital agency of ABSCBN Foundation for the 10.10.10. RUN FOR PASIG RIVER campaign happening on October 10, 2010.

This one-of-a-kind run (targetting 101,010 runners) is open to all Filipino residents in the Philippines and is for the advocacy of saving one of the country’s most precious body of water – Pasig River.
As you know, the environment is a key consideration in our every day lives, and there is a continuing need and clamor to clean the Pasig River and bring back its glory days. Hence, we saw fight in conceptualizing a run that will both raise awareness and consciousness to this worthy cause, as well as raise funds for the rehabilitation of the river.

With your site’s help, we hope to announce this run so that people and your audience may save the date and register online via http://www.101010runforpasigriver.com
As we target 101,010 runners, it’ll be the Philippines’ biggest run, to-date.

For your convenience, I’m attaching the press release (on save-the-date).

We hope you can help us spread the word.

Best regards,
JC Valenzuela

Glad to have found your blog! One of my life verses is Hebrews 12:1-3 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and losehttps://runnerforchrist.wordpress.com/about-me/#comment-form-wordpress heart. Keep it up!

Mabuhay Ronnie! Praise God for another blogsite that gives honor to the finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2) who is our rewarder, redeemer, rebuilder, and restorer– the Lord Jesus*!

Join me as I pray that your passion for running as a way of life be truly blessed as an avenue to share Christ who is our wisdom and strength and is able to make our lives purposive for His glory. May many, many come to know and yield their hearts to Jesus through this blogsite and personally as they meet you or join your running events/fellowships/club. May this site be a light that will pierce/penetrate the hearts of your readers that will dispel all the darkness, confusion and deception that the enemy has planted in their and our minds, blessing all your readers, making their hearts fertile to grab the best gift any person can ever receive in his entire life– eternal life in His kingdom. We pray these in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

I haven’t tried running in any running event but I can walk long distances and can walk fast. My husband and I recently bought barefoot rubber shoes coz I’ve heard about the benefits of barefoot running. Reading your blogsite and your readers’ comments inspires and encourages me to try this sport which has given a lot of benefits– healthwise, new friendships, prayer support, fulfillment, etc.

Hope you can email me one of these days.

Assured of pain-free eternal destiny because I’m His*,

Thank you Miss Jacqueline for dropping by. Indeed, in everything we do, we must do it for the glory of God, whether walking, running or whatever passion we are in right now.
Let’s continue serving Him until He comes. Keep the flame burning. And yes, I’ll be sending you email one of these days. : )
God bless you and your family.
Cheers,
Ronnie
