In my 52nd racing events, there are only two events in which I can say “the most daring and challenging” and they are: the Northface 20 kms in Nasugbu Batangas and the Makiling Challenge in Los Banos Laguna. Since I have already posted here the former, let me share with you those unforgettable memories taken while conquering this majestic place…the Mount Makiling!
I subjugated this place two times already, in 2007 and in 2008. I have 3 singlets here beginning in 2006 but I was not able to run the Makiling Challenge in 2006 due to some problems in logistics.
It’s the only race where everybody were obliged to walk, even those seeded runners, for the route was really too steep and craggy.
Last July 29, 2007, my official time for the 10 kms event was 59 minutes and 22 seconds and then last Sept. 14, 2008, my time was 1 hour and 14 minutes because the organizer adjusted the route to a higher level.
